How to manage inventory in restaurant chain store?

There are two main methods practicing in F&B industry now.
1) Daily Stock Balance
This is common practice where restaurant staff will perform end of day stock balance check and fill up required fill up ingredients for next 2 days.
Pro: This method is easy to practice
Cons: Very time consuming and staff may not do a proper stock check daily. Will always perform wrong inventory order and cause restaurant can't offer certain food.

2) Ingredients required through sales forecast in a week
This is a new practice where restaurant will have forecast sales for a week and system will calculate required ingredients to purchase for a week.
Pro: This method is automated and very easy to use
Cons: Not able to perform without system to pull out right UPT (usage per thousand) for your ingredients.
